  • Distance: 2 km
  • Starting point: Rector de Somerplein

About the walk

Did you know that Leuven is the birthplace of the Big Bang Theory? In 1931, Professor Georges Lemaître introduced his revolutionary theory at the University of Leuven. A permanent urban artwork was commissioned in tribute. Primeval Atom transforms the heart of the city into the universe.

You can find a list of the locations of the medaillons here on the website. Discover the 80 medaillons on this map and head out to explore the centre of Leuven
