Walk through the universe
The universe at your feet in Leuven
Did you know that Leuven is the birthplace of the Big Bang Theory? In 1931, Professor Georges Lemaître introduced his revolutionary theory at the University of Leuven.
A permanent urban artwork was commissioned in tribute. Primeval Atom transforms the heart of the city into the universe.
Trek through the universe
From now on, a walk through Leuven is a journey through the universe to short-circuit even the best pedometers. Why? Because every metre you travel catapults you back ten million years!
For those not yet acquainted with Georges Lemaître (1894-1966), this Leuven professor and priest is the founder of the Big Bang Theory
