Visit the University Library and Tower with an Audio Tour

Explore the University Library with an audio tour of the building. Afterward, you can visit the tower and perhaps even catch a temporary exhibition.

The tower will be closed on Monday 8 June and Tuesday 9 June 2026
Due to repair work on the tower, the library and tower will be closed to visitors on Monday 8 June and Tuesday 9 June 2026.

  • Language: The audio tour is available in Dutch, French, German, English, Italian, and Spanish.
  • Accessibility: For the deaf and hard of hearing, a video tour is available in Flemish Sign Language and International Sign Language.

What can you expect?

  • As you climb the 80-meter-high tower, you’ll discover its eventful history through photos and stories.
  • At the top, a view of Leuven’s city center and the surrounding landscape awaits you.
  • During your visit, you can often also see a temporary exhibition. Check out the current exhibitions at the University Library.

Attention On weekdays, you are not allowed to walk around the Great Reading Room, as students and researchers are working there. You are, however, welcome to view the impressive space from the central aisle.
