“The perfect place to relax and reflect”
Park Abbey is where Jana goes to find peace and quiet. “It’s close to the city, yet the city feels very far away. Here you can forget the pressures of daily life for a little while.”
When she was a student, Jana, 25, of Mechelen was introduced to the Abbey by her boyfriend. “He works close to Park Abbey and, during his afternoon break, we used to walk around the grounds. For me this is the perfect place to relax and reflect.”
“It’s close to the city, yet the city feels very far away,” continues Jana. Here you can forget the pressures of daily life for a little while. I sometimes come here with my boyfriend, other times with friends, but also alone. I have nothing but admiration for the fields tended to by the Boerencompagnie and De Wikke. I think organic farming is fascinating.”
The day’s last rays of sunshine
Park Abbey is at its finest in the summer, says Jana. “I go to the Abbey at least once a week during the summer, usually right before evening to enjoy the day’s last rays of sunshine. But I also like to enjoy a quiet Sunday morning here in the autumn and winter."
