Food & Hops is Leuven’s culinary highlight where beer, gastronomy, and crafts are brought together perfectly. Leuven’s best chefs will compose a sophisticated dish tailored to a matching exclusive craft beer. On the menu: three dishes by Leuven top chefs, various cheese boards by cheese master Elsen, oysters from De Walvis, barbeque by top butcher Rondou and desserts flavoured with beer by Zuut.  Every dish (even the cheese, oysters, …) will be paired with an exclusive craft beer.

  • Butchery Rondou
    Have you always wanted to make your own sausage? A craftsman in heart and soul, Filip Rondou gives you tips, tricks, secret ingredients, and combinations with beer. You may even win a prize for the very best sausage…
     
  • De Walvis, oysters 
    The combination of oysters and beer is explained during a short session and then there is a tasting. With the help of three kinds of oysters and six matching beers, you will be offered a basis with which you can explore this world further on your own.
     
  • Elsen, cheese & beer
    Traditional cheese makers Reinhout and Willem-Jan Elsen select 5 delicious cheeses that are paired with 5 matching beers. This way they give you an insight into the rich pallet of possibilities that these top products have to offer.
     
  • Dr Beer
    Dr. Beer stimulates all your senses with a fascinating workshop beer tasting and food pairing. You can enjoy 3 unique beers combined with appetizers.
     
  • Antidoot Wilde Fermenten (wild fermentation)
    Exclusive tasting with these ultra hip brewers? These brothers will give you a glimpse of wild fermentation, spontaneous fermentation, and brewing in nature.
     
  • Stella Artois tapping class
    Janik Deryt, coach of three world beer-tapping champions and Cicerone certified beer server, teaches you how to tap the perfect Stella. And of course you can taste them too!
